Our first family trip while we in Guam was to Hong Kong. We left on the evening of Dec 27th and arrived in Hong Kong at 11:30. We took a limousine ride to the hotel which was included in the travel package. Our first experience with Hong Kong's cultural diversity was during the drive to the city. Our driver discussed political issues between China and the providence of Hong Kong in English while an Andrea Bocelli CD was playing in the background. The driver explained the difficulties of raising children in Hong Kong were real estate is extremely expensive, and everybody must work in order to maintain a decent standard of living. He pointed to the new condominiums being built by the Chinese government to provide housing to newer generations and how the government was forced to changed its d.

Christmas in Hong Kong is celebrated only for commercial reason. The buildings display rational Christmas images such as a Nativity scenes or Santa Claus. Their image of Santa Claus is very different because he is only 5 feet tall and does his bear is not as long.
The city of Hong Kong never sleeps specially on weekends. Stores and restaurants stay open later than in the US.
